ADRA Deutschland e.V.’s “Children Helping Children!” campaign has launched for the 25th time. Our campaign group at Cologne-Mitte Seventh-day Adventist Church once again invites children, parents, and grandparents to pack gift boxes. Although Christmas may still seem far away, it will be here before we know it. The deadline for dropping off filled boxes is 15 November at 1:00 pm at our church, or by arrangement over the phone with Markus Frank – mobile: 0157 347 139 91.
The gift boxes will be distributed to children in Eastern and Southern Europe. The children are already looking forward to receiving gifts packed by their unknown friends in Germany. Boxes should contain school supplies, toys, warm items such as hats, scarves, and gloves, and hygiene items (toothbrushes, combs, hair clips, small mirrors, etc.). Sweets are welcome too – but they should have a best-before date of at least March of the following year.
Over the past few years, we have been able to send many gift boxes. We would like to build on this success and invite nurseries, schools, and anyone else interested to take part. ADRA Deutschland e.V. arranges transport and delivers the boxes directly to the children. Transport and delivery are carefully monitored.
The campaign is about more than gift boxes. “Children Helping Children!” also gives rise to projects for children, funded by the remaining donations. Whether renovating a school or providing therapy for children with disabilities, every initiative aims to benefit children. ADRA therefore asks for a donation of €8 per box to cover transport and distribution and help support children’s projects over the long term.
Whether you are a child, an adult, a school, or a nursery: if you would like to take part and receive a box to fill, simply give us a call.
Join in and pack a gift box for children in need!
